Write useful Roblox AI prompts

Turn a game idea into a clear, testable request for an AI coding assistant.

Give the assistant a bounded task#

Describe one player action, its outcome and where it belongs. Include existing file paths and constraints. The workspace can prepare this context for you to copy into your chosen assistant; hosted generation is not active yet.

  1. State the genre and the single feature you want to change.
  2. Name the relevant services, scripts and existing data format.
  3. Explain what must stay unchanged.
  4. Define a short test that demonstrates success.

Example: a checkpoint request#

This request is easier to review than asking for an entire finished game at once.

Add checkpoint respawns to my sky obby.
Read @ServerScriptService/CheckpointService.
Keep the existing stage order and UI unchanged.
Store the latest checkpoint on the server for this session.
Test: touch stage 3, reset the character, and respawn at stage 3.
Explain any new instances I need to create.

Review one change at a time#

Ask for the smallest patch that satisfies the test. Inspect changed code, create a checkpoint and test in Studio. A plausible answer is not proof that a game is correct or secure. Bring exact errors and reproduction steps into your next request.
