Guide

Write useful Roblox AI prompts

Transform your game idea into a clear request for an AI coding assistant.

Give the assistant a bounded task#

List one action, its result and where it occurs. Include existing file paths and constraints. The workspace can generate this context for you to paste into your chosen assistant; hosted generation is not available yet.

  1. Tell me the genre and the one feature you want to implement.
  2. List the services, scripts and existing data format.
  3. Explain what must stay unchanged.
  4. Give me one short test that shows success.

Example: a checkpoint request#

This is simpler to evaluate than a request for an entire completed game.

Add checkpoint respawns to my sky obby.
Read @ServerScriptService/CheckpointService.
Keep the existing stage order and UI unchanged.
Store the latest checkpoint on the server for this session.
Test: touch stage 3, reset the character, and respawn at stage 3.
Explain any new instances I need to create.

Review one change at a time#

Give me the smallest patch to pass the test. Look at the modified code, create a checkpoint and test in Studio. A possible solution is not necessarily evidence of correctness or security. Bring precise errors and reproduction steps in your next request.
